What this is

A curated index of CDN-hosted libraries, where every url has been fetched and every record says where its facts came from.

Curated, not mirrored

cdnjs lists thousands of libraries. Mirroring all of them would produce thousands of near-identical pages competing with cdnjs’ own site and adding nothing. This list is hand-picked, and the value added is the verification and the comparison rather than the scale.

Every record says where it came from

Versions, descriptions, licences and SRI hashes come from the cdnjs catalogue; jsDelivr and unpkg urls are built from the npm package at its own version, which is often not the same number. Each record carries that provenance and the date it was fetched, so a fact can be traced rather than trusted.

Free, permanently, and that is a design decision

There is no account, no key and no paid tier, because the only asset this site has is that developers trust it enough to paste from it. If it ever needs a gate, the honest one is rate-limiting for abuse, not a subscription.

Questions

Do I need an account?

No, and there is nothing to buy. There is no sign-in, no key, no rate limit beyond ordinary abuse protection, and no paid tier planned. A CDN index with a paywall is a CDN index nobody uses.

How often is the index rebuilt?

The versions come from the cdnjs catalogue and the urls are re-fetched when the index is regenerated; every record carries the date it was last checked so you can see for yourself rather than trusting a claim of freshness. A stale record that says it is stale is far more useful than a fresh-looking one that is not.

Can I use the whole index programmatically?

Yes. /libraries.json is the entire dataset, unauthenticated and free, including the verification state of every url. No key, no attribution required.
